BE PART OF BODY WORLDSExhibition Designer Calls for Photos of British Public August 2008: People across the UK are being given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of BODY WORLDS, the groundbreaking anatomical exhibition by trailblazing scientist Gunther von Hagens, opening at the O2 on October 24th. If you're worried about donating your body to science or becoming one of the iconic plastinate specimens, relax, there's a much easier way to get involved. The designer of the exhibition, physician Dr. Angelina Whalley, is looking for photographs of people taken over the course of their lives, for a special presentation on the human life cycle and the arc of ageing to be featured in The Mirror of Time, the latest edition of BODY WORLDS. “I hope to use at least 500 visual histories of individuals in a large gallery installation called, ‘My Life in Pictures’ to remind visitors that ageing is a universal, inevitable human experience,” said Whalley. Images for 'My Life in Pictures' – to be on display for the duration of the O2 exhibition -- can be of an individual or a family at various stages of life, whether it's a series of photos of you at 5, 10, 15 and 20, or multiple generations of a family gathered together. The submissions that best chronicle and represent a life from childhood to current age, or that show multi-generational family members over a lifetime will be chosen for the display. A special preview will be held in Fall, during the opening of the seminal exhibition, for those whose photos become part of the montage.
